This was the 2442 engine that ran as quick as 11.29 from memory..119mph.

We never got to run that week end due to pesistent showers.
It was a long drive home with no racing and no doolar support except my own wallet.
I cant believe it has been that long since I raced interstate.

dangerous - February 16th, 2009 at 07:51 PM

This may have been as early as 1988.

This one from the mid ninetys,
after running a mid ten pass.:dork:
That's Craig Brown on the left,
and Michael Nash on the right.

Bergs engine 1995 VW Nationals.
Check out the Araldite Manifolds.
Didn't hurt, that sucker ran pretty hard.

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n216/dangerous_05/Bergs.jpg

And my car at the track only the second time I ran it, early 1991.
I had just changed the tyres to front runners
and proper drag slicks.

A 1200 is slow - February 16th, 2009 at 07:58 PM

The last time I saw that ghia it had a turbo with a holley on it...I think it ran an 11.4 or so the day I saw it. That was about '94 or so I think. Any idea if it is still around? It was a nice car.

Hi Steve,
yes that is Henry trying to wrangle the drive job off Ross.
It is ironic that that very Bum
was the only thing stopping Henry from having a go.
Sorry Henry, but that is your words!
(I have a memory of an elephant.....OH,and the enormous genitals too, but that is a story for later).

Hi Mark,
Yes Mark still has the Ghia,
but it now has Autronic on it.
It ran as quick as 11.0 with the Holley.
Initial dyno testing with the EFI produced a slipping clutch,
and without an ANDRA sanctioned track,
and a new family, Mark has had different priorities since last century.
Hopefully the new found VW drag racing enthusiasm in Victoria may stir up the blood.

Stuart sold his blue bug some years ago.
It ran as quick as 11.36@117.
It had a Craig Brown 2387 with Autocraft heads.
It is in NZ now but is missing in action.

Stuart had a very nice R32 Golf for some years
with all the bells and whistles,
and various upgrades,
but I see it is for sale in the latest VWMA.
Probably so we can't hassle him for not running at Warwick!

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - February 17th, 2009 at 08:56 PM

Cool thanks Craig!!

Yeah we need some vids of Dangerous' blown set up in action. The sound of a supercharged volksy will get anybody enthuiased!!

I do have some old Jambo videos somewhere at my Parent's place. Might have to dig them out and find a video player to watch them on!!

matberry - February 17th, 2009 at 10:45 PM

I got vids, but how to post????

Great shots guys

vwsteve - February 18th, 2009 at 06:22 AM

i remember stewys car, i always loved the way it looked and sat nice

BeetleJuice - February 18th, 2009 at 07:46 AM

It's a shame Stu sold the car when he did because we never saw it's true potential! He was very conservative off the line and short shifted through the gears.

Should have been good for flat 11's or even a high 10.

matberry - February 18th, 2009 at 07:56 AM

And he sold my old trailer with it to NZ.....this was beautifully put together, but I think you could count the number of passes on one hand!

vwsteve - February 18th, 2009 at 08:51 AM

i would really love a set of rims like on his car, anyone know of any?
