Hey Westi,
Just a quickie, ages ago you posted a great way to do a merged header which was really cool to see. As you know I am trying to do my GT2871 exhaust
dump and wondering if there is a easy way to get the pipe to stretch the shape of the flange and how to best merge the 2 pipes. One for the exhaust
and one for the wastegate?
Also I have read so much stuff on the net me head is spinning about the separation of the two pipes vs one merged big nore style pipe vs a big bore
style with a internal splitter.
Have you found one to be the best? All of this knowing my whole exhaust is only 2 foot long.
I understand if you dont want to give trade secrets away like merging pipes etc. Thanks for your time,
Heath

3 1/8' of memory is what the inside of the flange is of memory.
for what you are doing the best would simply be to do your exhaust as if it was only pipe, no internal gate.then merge the gate last, using the same
degree bend that you have already used.if you know what i mean .if not i will try to dig up some pics.
as for split pipe dumps.as apossed to single pipe.the main reason for it is to give the exhaust more volume before it goes through the cat.therefore
making it easier to spool up before the cat restricts it.
when there is not cat in the system there are no differences between the 2 different styles of dump pipes.not on any dyno test's we have done.
i hope that helps.
Thanks Mate, that is what I am after. I am running no cat so I will merge them. I have also read that 2 separate pipes can cause the wastegate to
creep open, any experience with this?

creep can happen with any set up with good flowing extractors.if you get major boost spiking you can always change actuator,if that doesn't do it,extenal it will have to be.but for what you are doing i don't think you will have to many problems.if any at all.
Cool thanks, I will keep you posted with the muffler and dump.
