That is a common misconception.
On a serious note,
just the cost to upgrade to a UDL licence,
and the associated saftey gear to legally comply with ANDRA rules
is the only reason I have not attempted to run tens in my current car.
I don't think people realize the running costs of a fast Volksie...one that you only use twice a year.
It will always be a hobby for me,
and so t always comes in as a "non proiority" when no food and bills are on the table.
That being said,
I have commited to Craig to go to Warwck again this year.
...but only to keep Ross, Henry and Pete Keegan on their toes!

Nice car but its a actually flat 4 powered, VW never made a motor with a Scat case.

Yeh it's an expensive hobby DB.
Gotta keep the dream alive though!! 
A friend of mine that runs supercharged outlaws has stretched his mortgage once or twice for motor rebuilds and the like.
What does Andra require for your car Dave? (If it runs 10 sec)

Yes ! as our cars get faster all costs go up with in our sport . Most racers have sponsors or large companys behide them to keep racing each here
.
But with the number of race meetings growing , us self funded racers have to be more selected .
For me it's vw events first , then sport compact events , then other (testing ),then last big andra meetings .

Havn't run 10's Yet !!! But how do you put a price on it , look at how much to replace it would be best way to work it out i think .
I do have another project in the works but for street .

Altered would be good but someone needs to build a type 3. Preferably an early notch.
We have beetles, a KG, T34, Kombi's and a manx or two. Even a Goggomobil
If I didn't need mine to get to work i'd use that.
