So where are the update Damo?!!

I have been reading about all the action on the sketchy track conditions and near miss of Roger Crawford etc on ultimateaircooled forum. Some quick times still despite less than favourable conditions so I see.

Hope you are enjoying the trip thus far.

Here i am, yes the track was fuct, the left lane was slippery as hell, almost every car in that lane had to let off as they were losing traction and almost hitting the guard rail. They were cleaning the track with petrol to get rid of any oil spills then mopping it up. The racing finally finishedat would you believe two in the morning. It was a very disorganized event. It was very cool to see the racers you always read about though, i got to meet Roger Crawford he's a nice guy, his car is very nice also although he did get beaten in the final by another ghia from the east coast. So the hillbilly's sent the Californians packing without a win on the night. On one of Crawfords runs he had to pop the chute early to stophimself going into the wall. I only took photo's of the cars in the pits sorry no video, cause my camera sucks for video, plus i was up for almost 40 hours straight, so with the disorganization i had to have a nap, which made me miss about three or four hours of racing, but being woken up to the sound of drag cars is probably the best alarm clock ever, as were were parked right next to the track. Anyway i gotta get back to work, got efi tuning to learn about, by the way Jakes new facility is pretty damn good.

The event was not disorganized, the track was just a pile of shit.
Scott organized one of the most interesting, and varied VW weekends the east has seen in a long time. Its a shame the track was so bad, because a lot of decent cars ended up coming to this event, which was originally a small event for some friends to have some fun and a race....
