I have put together a Christmas Tree Simulator to allow practice and honing of reaction times.
I have no practical experience with drag racing, so I'm working from descriptions I found on the Interwebs, so any and all comments are welcome,
especially from those who actually race!

Enjoy,
hey Peter, pretty good, nice program... bit funny to use, took me a little to get the hang of it.... here is a link of an online one that i use http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/XMasTree.html, its pretty good, only thing
that shits me is that it wont measure you reaction time bellow 0.500.... keep up the good work
cheer adam
Thanks Adam,
I thought about doing an on-line version, but there is no way you can achieve accurate timing across the internet, you just end up measuring the
quality of the internet connection. Since the heart of the matter *is* timing, an on-lline version would be more of a toy than a tool.
Let me know which parts of the user interface need improvement - version 1.1 wants to be written!
Version 1.1 is now available. URL is as before:

Below are some screen captures from V 1.1.

Not bad. Mind you my reation times were not what you would call sharp

Version 1.2 now released with:
- - better night racing mode
- - bug fix for statistics.
Version 1.3 now released
Tested on Vista.
Version 1.4 is now released (26/07/2010) and (optionally) makes noises.

Enjoy!
If anyone has suitable images (i.e. view down the strip, clearly showing the tree) or sound files (there are three - prestage, staged and launched), I
would be happy to incorporate them in custom versions of the toy.
