Col with his Master Racer aka Fruitloop will be hitting the Willowbank dragstrip tomorrow. Aiming to be in the 12's in street trim after a few tweaks
since last running at the Nostalgic meeting a few weeks ago. Crazy Col is pushing the good luck fortune by driving the bug to the track. Good luck
buddy, see you in the morning
Pagey will be also there and we should have the shed by the water tank. Feel free to come say g'day.
you know what happened last time i came up,so i'll skip this weekend.
keep you'r eye out for the neatest r100 you'll ever see.it's yellow .plain yellow.go have alook, that's westside rota magic.
Good Luck Pete and Col. I spoke to the alcorn boys last week and they were telling me that they managed to run something like 116mph in the civic in
"street" trim.
13 odd car field should be good!! Hope you both make it through the rounds of racing without having to race off against each other!!
weather is looking quite hot as well so track temps will be quite high.
So who has done what today?? I was supposed to get a text with some info but obviously all the excitement and mayhem it was not sent??
Who qualified where and ran what numbers??
pete ran 11.50 at 114.65,
col ran 13.9@100?
the other volksy whos name was unfamilir was an rx7 which explains why no one had heard of him.
bed time now, up at 4am tomorrow.

and another
...
Brad...I had a look at the yellow R100 before I new it was a westside project simply because it was bloody nice. Went well to boot.
I made the mistake of taking my oldest son who is rotor mad. Must admit I learnt a bit about rotors. Between him and Aaron i'm starting to warm to
them. Still reckon they sound odd though...
and well done to those that flew the volksy flag.
Should have taken the windscreen wipers off Col
Cool pics of wally's car.
He only ran 11.3@114? on Saturday with tuning problems.(18psi)
Not sure if he has improved today, but I noticed a rain storm went through there at about 7.30pm.
Well what a great day of racing.....what can I say .......those pro turbo cars.......holy sh1t. Was a six second field so saw plenty of over 200mph
passes...they had to be seen to be believed...way cool.
Unfortuneately Col and Pagey were both eliminated in the first round of racing, Col with a double wammy of a cherry and a break out, Pete had a bit of
a bog down on the line and lost I think due to just a bad run.
Both/many cars seemed to have some difficulty achieving peak performance, it was quite warm, and generally half a second or so seemed to be the
penalty, also the track timing was consistently being an issue with some problems with the tree, but all in all, a fantastic day had by all.
Great to catch up with all the dub racers and supporters, Wally, Ritchie, Rod R, Macca (who came up from Sydney AGAIN), Tom, Marcus and many
others

Found this too...
Cheers to all above !! Saturday started slow but finished with 11.504 et at 114.65mph , not to bad but not a low eleven yet . Good side was a 1.51
sixty (quickest ever)foot 7.25 et at 1/8 mile , fastest yet .
Sunday was dam warm but was happy to qualify second from saturday , had a total brain fade with dail in (11.55) should have been least 11.70 or 11.80
with the heat and greasy track too . Car spun the tyres real bad (1.69 sixty foot) but red light killed it for me, ran 11.90et at 112mph .The guy I
raced all so red lit next round too.
Over all car when straight , showing sum improvements . Well , thanks to all helpers and good buddys , Dave , Rod , Mark ,Macca (flew up),Tom,Lisa
,all other vw mates .
Have sum race footage soon .
Thanks Rueb ,power of internet !
Congrats to Neil for making it the furthest of the vws (and massive wheelies). Great action from the three cars with very positive signs - bring on
Warwick!
Definitely very spoilt with the number of 6 second and 200mph passes - awesome stuff!!
