tassy74ida; can you tell us a bit about your car and what you have done to it?
What sort of speed are you looking to get out of it in quarter mile time and in top speed?
I don't really know anything about this sort of stuff but do find it quite interesting,
thanks
handycam tell us a bit about your manx??
desh I bought the car around 8 years ago for the hefty price of $800 and that was with 12 months rego!! ha ha I then like most people on this site got
bitten by the bug so to speak!! Car mods well I just say the basics, 48 idas, jacobs ignition system, merged racing headers and fat boy muffler,
gearbox was assembled by dave butler and ratios are set up for 1/4 mile only!! just put a new front beam narrowed 2" and 2 1/2" drop spindles, new
ball joints, tie rods etc.... lots more stuff but nothing left of field..
sounds good, should see it there on the 14th then
Off to the track tomorrow. Trying a few different things eg. Less weight , less rolling resistance etc.. will post up some times and footage over the weekend!!
Look forward to your "track report" Andrew!
Yea let us know how you go hey! I should bring the 64 along for shits and giggles haha.
What other Vw's have you got?
Chees Bill
Any track report yet!?
yay good news just got back from the track!!! I run a pb tonight 13.56@95mph and made it to the second elimination round of super street!! Found out some interesting info tonight also dave!! Im crossing the line at wait for it 8400 rpm I really need 28" tyres before next meet cause i can feel it loose power at the end of the track. and slight valve bounce : ( all in all very happy and lots of room for improvment! oh yeah 1.7 sisxty footers also..
first round of eliminations .. very excited at the time : )
Nice one Andrew, she looks a little quick than the last time I saw you run in Darwin

The joint was packed, more people there than I have seen in the last couple of years, except TassieNats. Heaps of cars, heaps of people. One would say it was extremely successful.
Hi tassy74ida was great to see the bug there and that awsome run againts that blown v8 ford hardtop twodoor everone cheered when the bug took out the
the ford
I can see myself in that last pic
hey jamiec did you come and say hi? will have to have a chat next meet if your going??
No one was around when i had a look at your bug out the back.Next time i will try to find you. What size is the motor?
Hey quick update, New M/T 28x9 slicks arrived today. Was in the process of showing my engine some love before the next meet and had a spark plug slash
burnt helicoil looking thing come out of the head together>> : ( No probs engine out and will fix the problem over the weekend. Um mesured
the stroke and it is a 86mm crank which was a bit of a shock. hear are a few pics of the inlet ports, any feed back would be appreciated. Not to sure
what type of port etc they are. Will post some footage of the maden voyage with the slicks on next weekend... : )
Man, wait to see how fast you go with some bigger ports!
The inlet flange dowel hole,
and closed boss on the top corner of the casting under the head-nut
says they are most likely early 1970s 113 heads as a base.
bit hard to measure the stroke thru the plug hole,
but when you take off the heads to upgrade them (hehe),
you can check it then.
look forward to slicks results!
rear tyres on 28x9" tuff as fuck!!!! cant waqit to see 60ft times with these bad boys on the back!!!
Got some wiring done today for the line lock and started to play round with the clutch dampner.
Has anybody been using or has used this setup at all?
Line lock switch mounted in steering wheel
