Hi

Watch out for wankers on quads. My nephew is a ANDRA official out there, he will most likely ask if you know my uncle, hes into VWs.

Steve

LOWBUG - October 20th, 2009 at 09:36 PM

Steve, got some newly developed CBB quad repelant, it renders the quads reverse gear useless. Yeh and Adam get a bar under that thing.

Woohoo can't wait to see what we get over the quarter and see how it compares with my 1/8 mile time and speed.

polak - October 21st, 2009 at 11:10 AM

yeah guys, the issue is being addressed, very soon.... warwick was good as it was the first time out and showed me all the gremlins that need to be sorted.... iv decided to get a half cage put in, then im building a custom rear end support that ties the forks into the cage and a traction bar (which means getting a new exhaust as clearances are an issue), also since iv decided to build a new box and upgrade the motor yet again i might aswell do it all in one hit... wont be done before wed night, so im just gonna have to take it easy on the launch and i should be ok..... hopefully...

colonel mustard - October 21st, 2009 at 12:05 PM

eh.... just kill the trans... :)

LOWBUG - October 21st, 2009 at 12:51 PM

Hey Adam, surely you and mike could rigg up a of traction bar of some sort rather than destroy your mounts, gearbox, clutch, exhurst and anything else that might rattle loose. Really this sort of support is basics that need to be sorted, we might even see bogg shake loose on take off.

yeah we can rig stuff up, but not before wed night... and here's no bogg, remember u never painted it....... lol jokes:lol:

colonel mustard - October 21st, 2009 at 02:05 PM

traction bar could be purchased and installed in about an hour i recon...

polak - October 21st, 2009 at 02:11 PM

yes it can.... but not in my case..... even if i build a custome one, it still wont work as of where my exhaust and muffler runs..... im on the phone to brad at west side right now, if i can get a set of merged headers then i may be able to have it sorted before wednesday... see how i go

coletrickle - October 21st, 2009 at 07:40 PM

Tie down strap and chicken wire thats a on the fly repair!A COLLOOK traction bar consists of an Audi 90 front door intrusion bar 12mm threaded rod, nuts and washers from bunnings 2 6inch peices of 50mm angle iron 2 longish self tappers and a peice of medium denisty wood(pine)Total cost maybe $15.Good enough for the super 1600 to go 1.96 60ft,14.87@86mph on 195 monzas. Not cool, but cool aint fast and cool ain't COLLOOK unless it happens by accident!

LOWBUG - October 21st, 2009 at 09:20 PM

Funny you should mention zip-ties and "do-it- your-self".
I used some zip-ties and four strips of bacon to "do it my self", when I found out how expensive it was
to get a member enlargement operation.:dork:

Duct tape works well also.

trickysimon - October 22nd, 2009 at 07:12 AM

Mine was too big so I took to it with the scissors:punk:

The only problem with this is that if you over tighten, you can't loosen the dam things off. You have to think of granma and try to relax.
