no it was on the news last night.

very very very hot at the track yesterday, battery issues prevented cbb cars from doing some solid passes, but otherwise was a great day with a really good turn out.... wish someone had turned down the heater though!!!!

Too hot to do much of anything. I pulled the plug after round 2. Trackside conditions were awful. Even my lenses were hot to the touch.

More "no" than "go" for most of qualifying and round 1 with a heap of long clean ups.

Surprisingly though, there were some good times.
Very empty grandstands...

So how did Henry and CBB go?
What times/speeds?

too cranky - November 23rd, 2009 at 06:37 PM

Dave

Henry didn't play but was out there giving us a hand.

We had battery issues through the 2 rounds of qualifying which allowed Mike a pass in the first round of qualifying and me a pass in the second qualifying round. Mike had a shifter issue on his first pass so times were irrelevant. My pass was first time 1/4 mile and a tune up with a lot more punch than warwick. I was off it and on it down the track still getting used to driving it and how everything feels. My 1/8th mile time and speed was better than warwick so i was happy with that. Just need bum in seat time now!

Big thanks to all the Lateshifters that crewed for us in the ridiculous heat. Thanks guys and girls!

And i have to Thank The Flat Four VW Club guys that cruised out. Support from the vw community at these events is really appreciated.

Looking forward to more track time. See you out there soon !!

In the future, it would great to see street VWs run @ the Nostalgia Drags.
The event is perfect for Cal-Look cars, rats or any type of Wolfsburg product.
A bog stock HG ran the 1/4 in 20 seconds, and there was plenty of other old Holdens running 16's.
You don't need a 12 second car to run!
I am pretty sure the next event is in April, 2010.

Too true that. I'd like to give my HR a go next time.

zayus - November 24th, 2009 at 08:37 PM
