LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - February 20th, 2010 at 07:22 PM

Pete Page has Run a 6.8@99.3mph from memory. Can't remember his other run but the mph was somewhere around 97/98mph and time around 7.00's.

Troy Said Mike Kirsten was having trouble gettting gears so was only using 2nd and 3rd from what i can gather and ran a 6 something at 121mph miss shifting into 3rd.

The goggomobile is running really sweet and into 6's.

Rod Penrose ran 6.3@110mph

turbo type 3 fasty of James ran into the high 7's unsure of mph.

that's about all I can really remember in a minute or so of phone call!!

Thanks Brenndan, sounds like a top meeting so far, wish we were there :(

The top 8 is going to be a great contest!
Pete also said that David O'Conner (in schrapnel) has run low into the 7's with high 90s mph.
Anyone got any more times from the SA guys?

Would love to see some pics!!!

Hope today is a trouble free, successful day for all!

Quick 8 final was Rod Penrose vs Pete Page. Rod had clutch issues apparantly as did Pete with an engine removal earlier in the day to try and rectify the problem. Troy said Pete's car started to creep on the line a tad and handed him a fat cherry giving Rod the win. apart from that Pete won every race today and was really happy with the performance of the car. Think troy said the quickest Pete ran today was a 6.86@99.1MPH

Mike Kirsten took fastest honours with a 6.09@122mph or something close to that from what I could remember.

Nick from Volkommen broke the Junka with serious wheel spin from the animal and eventually broke an input shaft!!

Weather was great and the atmosphere was really good as well!!

Couldn't say the same about the weather up here fro Dubs by the pie....

Courtneys best time was 9.562 @ 75.5
best mph was 76.14 mph

We had to go to Adelaide first to look at a few planes and a guided tour of a WW2 aircraft museum restoration before driving down to Portland . Long long weekend , all up did 3200km . Im sure Craig / Pete and some of the other Queenslanders could top that . Car performed flawlessly without any issues and is back to daily driving duties on Tuesday . Had a great weekend and must thank Craig for all the effort he puts into making Portland/Warwick happen . Im hoping to bring the S3 up to Warwick this year with its new 800hp+ set up . The real test for it will be its going to be driven there , raced and hopefully driven back !
