Dear Dave...I do not know where the 300hp come from..maybe 200-220 back then with the initial
fuel injected 2440 engine. It was super light then & also had an aluminium roll cage...there is no arguing
about it not looking like a main feature from the JURASSIC PARK movie !!!The oil from its last three
engines has always been dry/sumped-pre-heated.The first engine 2180 with 48s, an FK89,spg roller crank lasted 1 day..although
it won fasted time of the day & twisted the crank out of alignment as the roller shalfs back then were
not like the Hurst splined crank used in Porsches.I think Peter Keegan pinned his through the journals
to retain their phasing under shock load. The initial VW SPECTACULAR was on the dirt..but the fun all
started when Mark & Donna asked me to do some Demo runs around the go-kart track at Valery,
drag slicks with side thrust is challenging..Luke Pell probably would have remembered that if Donna would
not have been doing a nappy change at that moment...Ross..ps if only those prices were that today.
