A warm sunny day greeted us for qualifyling,Ian & Rose,
Frosty,Dangerous Dave,Adam & some buggy guys.Dave
found it easier locating the muffin hideout than locating the traction.He carded a 6.93 @ 97mph & was so excited
to my surprise he let Frosty drive the "MUFFINWAGON".. Frosty now wants to become a professional drag racer...
Frosty lost his valve gear on No 3 & found out that single valve springs are not really suited for 6,700rpm
when you have non standard valve timing.More to report after eliminations tomorrow...Thank you-Ross

Haha....Frosty is an excitable cat at any time - but I bet he was buzzing after the pass in the Muffinwagen!

Great day good to see some vw's up here for a change. I wonder if we will see any more turn up for racing tomorrow?

Frosty did good coming down for some runs the Tamworth Drag Association were very happy that they made the effort to travell from QLD to come drag racing at Gunnedah. Good effort have a safe trip home.

Should be another great day drag racing tomorrow.

It was a great day but yep it stopped, it has lots of number 3 inlet guide and the retainers in the rocker cover. I ran a 9.4 at 120.9km (75mph) which is my equal best. I'm still buzzing from the run in Dave's car......!!!!!! I took it real easy from the line and just slowly put the foot down, shifted into 2nd again very easy, into 3rd and eased it up to 6000rpm ( i think it was 1/2 throttle) man that was the real rush, it picked up sooo quick. Only ran a 10.5sec but it was the chance to drive a real race car that was unreal. Dave was going to give me another one but we ran out of time. There was a bit of amazement from some of the other racers that I got a drive too. Again THANKS Dave !!!!! that made my weekend. !!

Just got home from Gunnedah, great weekend of racing and socialising,
as has been the case at all the regional tracks I have been to.
Thanks to Rose and Ian for organizing the Volksies, and for the spiffy trophy, and "anti-rock" mesh.
Also thanks to Ross and Pauline Freestone for their hospitality and car storage,
as well as Ross and Gary's experience at crewing at the track.
Broke out first round(6.94 on a 7.05 DI), with best ever 60 foot time of 1.409.
Not bad for a slippery start line!
Must sleep.

Good to see all the volkswagens that turned up have a great weekend of drag racing. See you all in July at the next one.

It was great to see a few bugs competing - a first for me. It's giving me ideas that my girlfriend isn't too keen on.

These are from the saturday meet. Would have been great to stick around for sunday too. Maybe next time.
