Saw these out at Custom Bugs and Buses, just sitting on the bench, as far as I know there probably the first one here in Australia.
These are the new "Strip Dominators" from CB Performance. Titaniam valves, masaive CNC posts, this folks is the shit everyone would love to have.
Its good to see that this type of performance stuff is now available here in Australia.
I need to step into another room with a box of tissues after handling this.

these heads are awesome... for about 5 mins
94mm bore and ally type 1 style case.
Hey Vlad, why 5mins
mmmm VW porn, good work chris
so will we see this in the "lowbug"
Too much for my car, although I am looking at upgrading next year, I'm trying to keep my car as streetable as possible, until it isn't.
just give in chris.... have a stocker for the street and a weapon for the track
why, when you can have both with one car

and what was the hard way ?
A street car thats close to a race car is still a car you drive on the street, in my case a weekend toy. A race sits until race day, there is the best of both worlds, its just a race car that not at the top. As a Super Street class race car doing 12.38's its close to the limit for its class and that suits me fine, and i can still go cruising and enjoy my ride. I'm enjoying my cake, with more icing on the horizon.
Now those heads/ manifolds & rocker covers should have an "R" rating, I am in love !!! but should there be concern how long these magnificent heads last before developing a crack between the valves?? Not much meat!! stock twin port heads have 5mm of solid alloy between valve seats and they crack, these heads look like the valve seats are touching each other, not much support? that big intake seat has a high chance of dropping, hmmm, maybe I am getting too old, but shit ya gotta love em cheers Frank
Frank, you gotta realise the heads are built out of far superior material that std VW heads, and also their not designed for sitting in traffic or on the highway. Apart from that we'll see how they go, unfortunatly this engine isn't going to rub till next year as the car there going into is still in the buiid.
Hi yeah thanks, I did imagine that they would have used a strong alloy like 300m with its high level of silicon & molybdenum ( I have some conrods in a bigblock made out of that stuff) way stronger than stock vw heads, but still, the lack of hardly any material between the valve seats is a concern, but also one would worry about the exessive heat from the exhaust seat transferring over into one side of the intake seat, I appreciate that these heads will only blast down the quarter mile and not be street driven, but one can only hope that you get many many passes before any sort of head failure occurs, they must cost a fortune and like I previously said, I absolutly love em!!
Thanks Chris,
Ah yes lots of comments, cant wait for Mike from CBB to build my little monster.Im sure the finished project will be want we have all talked about as
this heads are only a part of whats coming next year .
I have not seen these heads in person,
but they are very similar to my Component Development heads from Roger Crawford,
and both are based on the original Autocraft design, first available in the mid 80's.
The area between the seats is no concern at all.
In fact it is common practice to actually interlock the seats together in the middle.
This means that one seat is fitted first, and then the second seat hole is bored, and actually cuts into the first seat.
My initial reaction was the same, in that I thought it would give trouble,
but as it turns out, it is a very good way to ensure a solid platform and maintain seat retention.
This is not just for drag racing use either.
In endurance applications, these heads were known to do thousands of laps with excellent reliability
Thanks Dave, I can see how "interlocked" seats would actually prevent seat drop and I see good potential for it, still got to wonder if there are any destructive effects of the intake seat acting like a heat sink, but your last comment about endurance applications puts that concern to bed. So all we can do is wait and see some remarkable results from this insane engine thats getting put together, good luck guys, I wish you's the absolute best, cheers Frank
