vassy66T1 - July 26th, 2010 at 03:08 PM

So still a little bit more to go for a 7 for the quarter? (a 1/10th or so)
Any specs Dave on the engine/gearbox?

fat-attack - July 27th, 2010 at 07:16 AM

just grips then pulls! whats this cars best for the 1/4?

dangerous - July 27th, 2010 at 08:45 AM

8.40 at 175 with much slower half track numbers.
My understanding is it has a mendeola trans,
and 2850cc motor,
but has to carry over 2000lbs of weight due to the large engine capacity.(class rules)

vassy66T1 - July 27th, 2010 at 04:40 PM

Ignorant question, but is the weight for class related to CC's and forced induction multipliers or some other factors also?

QuikBug - July 27th, 2010 at 07:26 PM

Wow thats quick

Not sure I would stand infront of the car while it is doing the burn out thou.

I think in the "pro mod" PRA class they use lbs of weight per cubic inch
and then there are weight penalties for EFI and intercooling,
of which the Laufers car has both I think.

vassy66T1 - July 27th, 2010 at 08:48 PM

Thanks Mr DB

Agreed on the location of the guy when the burnout is underway.

bajachris88 - July 27th, 2010 at 08:52 PM

How cool is that!

That would be the most thrilling 5 secs in ones life.
Would luv to get into the passenger seat of something like that....

Hi

Was the squeaking sound wheel spin? If it was there is still more left in that car.

Everytime you watch you realise just how good that car is as well as how nice the track is as well.

typethreeking - August 8th, 2010 at 05:44 PM

hey dave, what size tyre you think hes running??

dangerous - August 8th, 2010 at 06:35 PM

Most likely no more than a 10x28"...could even be 9x28.

typethreeking - August 8th, 2010 at 07:19 PM

looks similar to mine..

dangerous - August 10th, 2010 at 08:32 PM

Apparently it is a 10"x28" tyre.
the engine uses a 78 stroke with 4.010" bore=101.85mm.
This is a 2542cc engine with over 50psi boost, and makes about 1000hp.
Car weighs a minimum of 2008lbs to be cass legal,
but owner(Kris) says it is closer to 2100lbs to keep the nose down.

I get 900hp at 2008lbs and 940 at 2100lbs

Either way, it IS the "Fastest Focker around"

dangerous - August 22nd, 2010 at 04:42 PM

Turbos are great, but you can keep your wizzers.
I think people know me well enough to know, that if i went with any artificial aspiration,
it would be a little different to the norm.

mactaylor - August 26th, 2010 at 11:18 AM

No not different, just an individual approach with a certain flair!!!!!
