Pete missed the last qualiryer when the cog came off the hi-torque starter....DOH!!
Should be fixed tomorrow.
Wally ran an 11.0@130 then some other mid-high11 second runs with fuel system damas.
Thanks for the updates DB
wally ran 10.96 on a 10.90 dial in first round then ran a 10.79 0n a 10.90 dial in(broke out) with the other car still sitting on the start line, what a WALLY..., not sure about pete as i didnt get to see him run..Troy
Well , no luck for me ! After missing 3rd Qlf on Saturday , when starter broke ( cog fell off when started ,to head out to run ) , then pulled motor
out to clean flywheel up and find broken bits that got stuck in clutch fingers , put all back together on Saturday night .
So pulled starter off 48IDA car (at home), fitted Sunday morning , checked everything over ( rev controlls , leaks , full throtle, shift points ,
started car about 4times ) headed out for 1st round .
Burned out , moved towards start line , then smelled sweat C14 fuel ( what thu !!) leaking from some where ? Started to move in to stage , as other
car was in (Jason Alcone, honda). My thoughts were racing ( turn car off , stage and hope he red lights , should I turn fuel pump off , ect ) tree
came down befor I was ready , crap crap crap RED LIGHT from me . Took of from start line then rolled off from there . In braking area found right hand
incoming fuel line lose . This is twice now that speedflow fitting has come lose onto a nipple fitting.
Was happy with 11.06 et 120 mph on Saturday ( Tom may have video ) Car weight 1270lbs , with me 1464 lbs . This is with 3/4 full of fuel .
THANKS , to Rod Richardson , TOM , Macca Smith from nsw , Dangerous , Lisa P
sorry about poooor spelling
Pete, Sorry to hear about your troubles (starter, red light AND fuel), but like you say, you've got to be out there.
The numbers are impressive (E/T and weight). As for the red lights, maybe we should (not?) compare notes at Warwick - or maybe it's just yellow thing
.
How early was the red? Do you use right angle fittings on the braided hose to the carbs?
Mate, disappointed to hear of the leak!
You were on a streak - two finals in two events...
The footage is just processing on youtube so should be sweet by the morning. In-car footage is not great but at least you can see the tach etc...

Nice work Guys!!
Clutch was slipping on that 11.0 pass.
Great stuff Pete. Car looked great from the grandstand and got heaps of favourable comments from the ricer crew we were sitting with.
Apart from the volksies (and a couple of 6 sec passes from cars that looked like they all came out of the same mould) J20 on Sunday was a bit
underwhelming compared to previous years. Competitor numbers down and crowd certainly down.
Nice Vid Tom!! Shame the incar footage jumps around a bit!!
Nice work Pete (and Wally) for being out there. Was disappointed I couldn't make it due a friends wedding but great to see some footage (well done to
Lisa or Tom or whoever is responsible for the youtube link!). Hope to be flying the flag out there next year (I am really really hoping my motor will
be done by then!).
Al
Thanks guys , Ha thats racing , time now to think about next meeting . Tom ! all is good , the rev limiter , plus burning out , car in motion all adds
up to the problem .
I lost the camera footage on our camera today as well . I need
lisa to give me a lesson .
Good footage Tom , thanks for youtube too.
bad luck pete hey 11 flat nothin to sneeze at buddy
May be it's becouse I didn't have my pinks on ( I'm with pete)
i reckon the pink would have got ya into the tens for sure
Thanks Reub , you sure can find photo's from any event. Keeped wheelie bars down so no big wheelstands shots .
Notice last pic , fuel splashing out from over flow pipe (under middle at front ) as tank was real full to help keep front down (more weight) .
Rod R in back ground watching tyre spin and how long car stayed on bars ( or his he going to sleep !)
Cheers
