Thought we'd put up a few photo's of our weekend away. Had a great weekend. Thanks to craig at VWMA , the staff and members of Warwick drag racing club for trying so hard to put on a good event for us and all the competitors that made this great weekend possible

was able to gain quickest ET of the weekend with a 6.89sec pass . Had a couple of passes in the 6's but the driver was very inconsistant at the start line and on gear changes . Need to learn how to drive the oval all over again .
after getting off the dyno 2-30am thursday morning with 348bhp @ the wheels on just 15psi boost we got 3 hours sleep , then packed for our Warwick trip .
On the dyno the oval had 2nd and 4th gear issues . I suspected that this was just a gearshift adjustment , however after adjusting the shifter on sunday morning and a short test drive to the burn-out pad , 2nd gear was not going to stay in at all (not even holding it). So I decided to make my first pass (against Brad in the Junka) using only 1st and 3rd gear . This worked and I ran a 7.8sec pass . When coming along the return road I accidentally selected 2nd gear and the bastard worked !! No noises , not jumping , just worked normally ??
After this I was able to use all the gears . I then had an issue on the next 3 runs of launching from the start line and as the oval accelerated in 1st gear it appeared that the engine would have a full cut-out briefly then kick back into life as I grabbed 2nd gear . This we found to be my fault as I had the rev limiter set at 7500rpm and I had been turning the engine to 8400rpm . I then lifted the rev limiter a little higher .
I never got a clean run in all weekend but was very happy with our results . The excess smoke from the exhaust is due to a turbo oil drain issue that I will have to attend to before next meeting .
Next step for the oval is service the turbo , rectify the oil drain issue I have , then back on the dyno for a big boost session . Looking forward to a pass in the 9's in the near future at WSID

How did the 2165 open wheeler go?

Chris Bolton in the WPVW turbo vee went really well until it munched a diff on Sunday morning .
Chris went to Warwick this year with 1 goal in mind ... to make a 100mph pass . As it was he did several passes over the 100mph mark , with a best pass of 7.1sec @ 103.45mph .
Chris is ecstatic with the results that we achieved and cant wait till next year.... bigger heads , bigger pipes , bigger turbo , more boost ... should be fun now that he will be allowed to play with the big boys .

Looks like it went well rod, be interested in the spec for the bigger motor. I am running a 2165 with a 2871 Garret, water to air intercooled and injection with Street Eliminator heads. It is still in development but happening. Keep us up to date.
Thanks
Heath
