In this video Trent my apprentice applies the front brake tap and proceeds to do a crowd pleasing burnout , starting off in 2nd gear , shifting to 3rd and then shifting again to 4th . He lines up against the V8 ford and runs our very first 12 sec pass with a 12.8 @ 101mph on 165 kumho street tyres (stock axles)

In 1991 I decided to try speedway racing with a VW full chassis super-sedan . It was powered by a mid-mounted 2.4litre (88x92) type-1 methanol injected supercharged engine .
To be honest , this car had much more potential than I could get from it ..... mortgage , not long married , baby on the way , and opened new business .... just a plain lack of funds was available for the race car .

in 1989 , brother Rod decided to purchase a formula vee for racing . He removed the 1200 engine and fitted a 2276cc twin webber engine that I had built for him .
He took it to Huntley hillclimb and was very fast on slicks , until one day the vee ended up-side-down with him in it after a rear suspension mounting broke . Fortunatley Rod was not injured , but the same could not be said for the vee.....

before the main 100 lap race we had to go through 5 qualifying heats ....this is one of those heats .
