A few of us are heading up to wsid on the 22nd jan for the test and tune. Anyone else keen to get in a bit of practice before portland? You'll need an ANDRA licence

Ben , I have finished a new engine and will dyno it this week and if all goes well I will see you on Saturday . I would like to know who else will make the effort to join in . I believe Dave Stocker will run his car when he returns from Bali and Morgan will try to get his there as well , ROD.

Both mine and morgans cars are good to go. Henry said he will be there. I spoke to Keith a while ago and he said he might be keen but had to organise a licence. Should be a good day if we all turn up.

where are you guys testing at?

Testing starts at 2. will be there between 12 and 1. Not sure how long we will be there for but im keen to get a few runs in. See you there

1. is it only vw's testing?
2. How close can I get to the start to get some good photos

no, all cars from top fuel down to junior dragster. not sure how close you can get.

Hey Paul give WSID a call to ask about how close you can get? I'm fairly sure there is a press pass that you can obtain to get close to the action?

Hi guys , I will not make the meeting this weekend as the new engine will not fit in the car . The engine is 30mm wider than std , so I started cutting away the body and eventually got it to fit , to only find out that the inlet manifolds will not bolt up . I will leave it on the floor and assemble another engine that will be a little narrower this week and hopefully run it before I go to Portland , ROD.

that being the case think I will give it a miss they are charging $20 for a test day yet next weekend at Eastern Creek the V8 supercars test day is free

he ran best of 12.6@103 NA then 11.7@114 (i think) with a 50 shot. he had a few runs all around that time and mph. no breakages a so he's ready for portland

My car is moving in the right direction (at last) after gearbox and clutch tweaks over Christmas
4 runs, Worst: 12.57@106.97mph, CA 3044 ft. (1st run)
Best: 12.12@108.87mph CA 1926ft (last run of 4)
The initial track preparation was poor but was sprayed in the afternoon. The weather during the day was poor but improved into the evening as can be seen by the Corrected Altitudes (CA)
Probably, the largest gathering of drag VW'S in Sydney at a general (non VW) meeting recently that I can remember - Good Stuff!!!!
