Hey Guys
Rod and I made it to the track for Round 1 of the QLD Street Car Mag 1/8th mile series and had a blast. Weather went from scortching sun to a quick
shower delaying proceedings by about an hour.
Rod had his game face on cutting a heap of good lights even taking down reigning super street national champ in the last round with slick light and
7.904 (correct me if wrong Rod?) on a 7.90 dial.
In contrast, I struggled with getting the car off the line only managing a best of 8.246 @ 85.78mph. Plenty to analyse but still had a blast!!
Massive thanks AGAIN to Pete for busting his ar$e all day on two cars.
Contrary to my prior thoughts it is not just for street cars so it would be great to see a few more VWs (rounds below), great opportunity for some
testing at Warwick before the VWMA event. It was a really chilled out event with heaps of people commenting on seeing 2 VWs mixing it up.
Round 1 - Willowbank Raceway - 26th February 2011
Round 2 - Warwick Dragway - 14th May 2011
Round 3 - Benaraby Dragway - 9th July 2011
Grand Final - Ironbark Raceway - 24th September 2011
For some reason the pics from Blacktrack are not linking but there are a few nice wheelie pics of Rod on there...
Cheers
Tom

1st round race , lost on reaction , heads up race , 7.61 et 91.64 mph ( 7.50 dail in ) other lane 7.56 et 92.21 mph ( v8 commodore )
Starter shit it self ( zing zing ) on trailer for early trip home .
Few pics ,
Did Tom make it out? If so, how did you go Tom?
Did rear end changes on Rod's (and tranny) give some improvements?
No , Tom found a engine problem , so he had to pull out .
Little early on rear end , but easy take off went 1.60 . Plus rear shock are single ajustable , so this should help
dail in to track conditions , soften up for more traction ect .
Here is other pic from 1st rd ( poster shot)
Great pic of Ron Richardson in action!! Lol
Thanks for the update Pete
Wow, great pic. That's one for the portfolio!!
Yeah love that pic. It is in the latest issue of Queensland Street Car. Page 77. Not that I look at it every day.
