Well, after loading and unloading the car and parts for 2 days, setting up and tearing down the Circus tent, the meeting was finally CANCELLED due to RAIN. Had a run before the rain, but was not worth posting (felt like I was towing the kombi down the track)
See you all at the Nostalgia's!!

I REALLY hate race days like that.......a lot!

I remember riding my little Duc 350km to the track once from home, coz I rang before I left home and was told the weather was overcast but looked good. Got soaking wet at about the 1/2 way mark, drenched through leathers and everything, had to avoid falling branches off trees at one point even. Got to the track it was overcast, looking like a bedraggled cat dragged out of a pond.......just as they closed the gates up.
A wind storm had blown branches everywhere so the track was closed up.
So I rode home again.
*sigh*

At least I got one run in before it rained - many Group 1 racers didn't

At least the car is ready for next time :)

Tried posting picture of the beetle from Cackling Pipes Photography website during the event - technology beat me

matberry - March 21st, 2011 at 10:56 PM

Come on Henry...you can do it.

HS618 - March 21st, 2011 at 11:07 PM

That's why I drive a 1956 beetle - limited technology.
If you want to see the picture, go to the Cackling Pipes Photography website for the meeting. It won't be hard to find, it's the only beetle there!!

HS618 - March 21st, 2011 at 11:18 PM

As long as it gets done, does it matter who does it? - Thanks Matt, yeah, that one

Car looking crisp as ever Henry. :tu:

HS618 - March 21st, 2011 at 11:49 PM

Thanks Matt, As you know, It all comes down to a lot of work, a lot of friends (VW and non VW) a lot of patience, a lot of listening and a lot of mistakes to get it the way that you want it - and it's still not right (Am I happy with it? - s**t yeah!!)

Master Henry, don't tell them you make mistakes!
