Just wondering what I should use for my street car that I could occasionally drag shock wise. I have a few friends racing other cars and all run 90/10's and I know this is common here but I don't want it to be a pig in the street and would rather it be safer than have a lower 60foot time.
It is ball joint and IRS with a 2165 turbo motor. I have spread the shock mountings in my arms allowing me to run coil overs in the rear to setup spring rates and get it off the line better. They have also been narrowed 26mm on each side. I don't know much about the area and would be interested on other experiences.

Also can anyone point me in the right direction on CV's and what brands people are finding best. It is a IRS with a quaife LSD and setup to run kombi CV's. The outer stubs are off a 181 which will also take kombi CV's.
I also need to know what I should do about axles and shortening them as my arms are narrowed? In saying this I would like a out as in if something is going to break I would rather it be an axle rather than my gearbox.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I used German Lobro CVs and type 3 automatic left axles.
These held up to 9 second runs, but had occasional axle failures.
These days it would be easier to buy aftermarket axles(approx 16" or less) ,
than trying to find two Left Hand side auto type 3 axles.

Make sure you use the correct washers an plates under the CV bolts or they will come loose.

i use BMW E32 Cvs & axles , bought chrome moly drive flanges to suit the Porsche/Bimmer size & bolt pattern, & then had "Trik off road" modify my outer flanges (increase size & re-drill pattern with "up-sized" threads for the bigger CV joints)

but then you may need slightly shorter axles to suit your application i expect

but after all that was done i have a pretty-well bullet proff drive train,,, the 220hp alloy injected quad cam 32v V8 hasn`t spat one yet :-) says he touching wood, crossing fingers & toes :-) now praying that he hasn`t hexed himself :-)

I have also heard some people use Holden Commodore stuff too

porsche 930 turbo CVs are the same size & pettern as the Bimmer ones i use but my Bimmer ones only cost $250 for both axles assys,,, the Porsche ones were something stoopidly rediculess price
