Hi All,
Entries for VW Warwick 2011 are now closed and the field is an impressive 79 cars and drivers. This equals the 2009 record field which had 84 drivers
and 79 cars (double entries for qualifying). This weekend certainly showcases the best VW drag racers and cars this country has on offer.
David O'Connor (Shrapnel) is traveling up from Adelaide to defend his points lead in the 2011 series. Brad Young (Junka) is hoping to turn the
tables. Rohan Keylock will be backing up his 2010 Warwick victory.
After VW Portland the points table is as follows:
1. David O'Connor - 190
2. Courtney Hawker - 175
3. Brad Young - 155
3. Rose Merrett - 155
4. Mike Waldron - 100
5. Rod Penrose - 80
6. Andrew Ermel - 80
Victoria currently lead the State Of Origin Challenge, but a word to the wise - Qld make up nearly 70% of the Warwick field, so my guess is this will
probably swing to the homeside advantage.
Tickets, etc can be collected from the VWMA tent on Friday. Any changes to your tickets/crew/etc can also be made at that time.
If you know of anyone who missed the cut-off and were planning to compete, they can call me on 0419 735 596.
See you on the track.
Cheers

Hi Everyone,
Not long to go now. Just a quick update on a few developments.
The Warwick Pipe Band will be back this year to add some music atmosphere to the static display at Leslie Park on Saturday morning. The band members
are enthusiastic car lovers, so they are looking forward to the event.
Please remember that only street registered cars may be driven in the parade. I know this makes common sense, but it is worth mentioning. Unregistered
vehicles must be on trailers.
Please read carefully through the minimum requirements for driver apparel as these will be required at scrutineering. If you need to have crew members
help you stage at the lights, remove shute tags, etc, they must register at the same time as scrutineering to receive an armband to allow them onto
the track. Crew must be over 17 years of age to assist on the track (this does not include the staging lanes).
No open camp fires allowed and no pets. Both of these restrictions are for obvious safety reasons. The consumption of alcohol is only permitted after
racing is finished each day. Please observe this requirement as ANDRA officials are obliged to enforce.
More updates later. See you on the track.
Cheers
Craig
Hi Craig
So fires are allowed but must be enclosed? Is that correct?
