Last Saturday a dyno day was organized for a few VW cars in prep for this years Warwick Weekender Drag Racing Meet.
Keith and myself went along to tune Keiths new motor in his Beetle. He has made a few changes from last year and was keen to see his results. After two dyno pulls and a quick timing and jet change the motor made 185 rwhp.
You will notice this is with the fan belt on, real hp!.
Congrats Keith on this mighty effort.

Cheers Col

You can see at the start of this vid the dyno figure.
Rod was certainly impressed.

Excellent result and great vid but how many people do you have stuffed inside the bud during the power run?

LIFE IN THE LOW LANE - September 21st, 2011 at 06:02 PM

I remember doing this for dangerous' car at dyno mania a few years ago. I think 3 of us contored ourselves into the back to weigh it down a lil LOL

vw54 - September 21st, 2011 at 06:33 PM

top stuff Larry u should have put Rod in the back seat 4 more weight :smilegrin::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Keith Haeusler - September 21st, 2011 at 07:55 PM

Thanks Col.

Geez Rod was game standing there considering I put it together. I notice he leans back out of the flying debris flightpath.

If i could get some photo`s to attach i would show the 4 new CMS/Erco rims i had made for Warwick. Pity the effin courier driver dropped them all onto the M5 freeway and then the motorists behind ran over them. They would`ve looked good too.

Ah well, looks like cheese cutters this year.

Cheers,
Keith

Belt and muffler - love it! Congrats on the dyno Keith result!!

Surely some one has a set of slicks to lend you - I (as i am sure you do also) want to see it haulin...

Keith Haeusler - September 24th, 2011 at 05:01 PM

Westi,

Same 2332cc, changed the Web 86c to a Pauter S3E8 cam which is 302 adv and 272 at 050". Lift is alittle less than the web though at .600". When back down to 42mm vents from 44mm and up comp to 11-1.

Picked up tons of mid range, a little top end and still runs around with similar head temps but i wouldn`t like to run it on a hot day. Ended up at 27/28* timing, made most power there. Old combo was 30*. This is on BP 98.

Took it for a run last night, still smilin`.

Cheers,
Keith
