Another racer busted (drugs)
Dak-A-Tak - April 28th, 2012 at 09:58 PM

Not good for our sport but I'm happy that he's busted .
Do the crime , hope he goes to jail .
Andra should give him a life ban .

Expensive sport drag racing and thats supposedly how he funded it ......knob

waveman1500 - April 28th, 2012 at 11:30 PM

I love the fact that you can be caught with 50kg of marijuana in your car and still be out on bail! Surely that's a serious enough offence to be remanded in custody?

As far as drugs and drag racing goes, I think it could be said that drag racing attracts drug dealers, rather than saying that drag racing is linked to drugs. It's like saying that a high percentage of drug dealers own BMW X5s or gold Rolex watches. Just because you have one, doesn't mean that you're going to turn to drugs.

mactaylor - April 29th, 2012 at 06:47 AM

sounds like dope wont impair your reaction times! 50kgs and leading the points. wonder if he will argue it was for personal use?

Stanley - April 29th, 2012 at 07:29 AM

Also interesting is being pulled over for RBT and ending with a boot search. Seems there might be more to it.

yes Stanley there is more to it!He's an idiot!he had so much weed in his boot that he had the spare tyre Jack etc on the back seat!Apparently when your doing crime it's the little details! As for Andra they arn't the cops but when as they recently had a gentleman up in the tower interveiwing him about his return from retirement/jail you can't but think drag racing and drug's/money laundering/ pimping/etc etc! When the law gets finished with the" motorcycling enthusists"the dodgey dudes at the drags and other forms of motorracing better be worried.

68BUS - April 29th, 2012 at 11:44 AM

Also, the way he had it bagged up would not have hidden the smell very well.

But what the hell does it have to do with drag racing, sure mention that that is his profession, but why the hell should the drag racing board be asked for a statement?

If I got busted with 50kg of dope would they ask the QMBA for a statement cause I am a builder?
Did they ask the BodyBoarding Board of Australia for a statement after the Corbys got done??
Stupid...

I was thinking that at first but no matter how well packaged 50kg of weed is they would smell it coming 3 blocks away, particularly if its anything like the stuff grown around here

haha dickhead!
as quoted:
'He is a leading competitor in the category and holds both the national speed and elapsed time records.'
national speed record

HappyDaze - April 29th, 2012 at 03:15 PM

Looks like he'll end up with a record that he wasn't trying for.

Stanley - April 29th, 2012 at 07:26 PM

Actually thinking about it more......RBT....random boot test....that explains it

Dak-A-Tak - April 29th, 2012 at 11:43 PM

He was entered to race in Sydney this week-end coming , maybe a delivery too .
As he holds ANDRA class records , I think they should be wiped out to( buying parts with hot money).
I feel bad for the family (wife , kids , parents) .

68BUS - April 30th, 2012 at 08:00 AM

Good Thing he kept it in his town car and not the drag car. How embarising would it be it you hit the parachutes and 50kg of dope flew out instead!

Hi

I think what it has to do with Drag racing is that he may have used illegally gained money to fund his drag racing. Good way to launder proceeds of drug sales.

We all know that speed costs money, how fast do want to go?

Just like drug cheats in other forms of sport he may have used the drug money to buy components to improve his performance.

If you are going to do that... Might as well just wipe motorsport records out in total and start again...

Dak-A-Tak - June 11th, 2012 at 05:15 PM

Kidding about what? Money drives the motorsport industry and pushes innovation, Just like War drives innovation and technological advancements, legal money or not, we have ALL benefited from it, from grass roots drag racers to the top F1 teams, So if you are going to wipe one persons times and achievements off the records, then wipe everything.

Regardless of where the money came from to pay for the cars and the technology, if it was all done within the rules and regulations of the sport then there is no real issue. Sure, its unethical and illegal, but what happens on track has nothing to do with the origin of the funds to put a person there.

I am not a racer, (At the moment), but I am heavily involved in the Motor Sport industry and community as a whole here in South Oz... But I don't see what that has to do with the topic at hand...

homer - June 12th, 2012 at 05:31 AM

They set a precedent with the other guy so they should be consistent. The guy raced at the nitro champs and the winters because he got the lawyers in. He got caught red handed so he should cop it on the chin and leave the sport.

whathaveidone - June 12th, 2012 at 06:24 AM

I have earnt every cent i spend on my car through hard work (even gone into debt) and not doing it the easy way by drug money. To be beaten by someome who supportd there team with drug money would shit me no end. I know its all through our sport and by weeding them out one by one will only do good for it.
Wipe all wins and ban him from competing!!!

I think it's the weeding out that created this mess

whathaveidone - June 12th, 2012 at 05:18 PM

:tu::lol::lol:

homer - June 12th, 2012 at 05:25 PM

he won the winternationals final. It sucks.

vassy66T1 - June 12th, 2012 at 06:04 PM

Yep

Not many cheers from the crowd ... well none actually.
No one wants it in the sport. It discourages people and gives a bad image to it.

homer - June 13th, 2012 at 05:25 AM

same at the nitro champs every time he raced. The season is over now so lets see how it plays out in court
