Good news guys! for those of you who are avid blue bonnet haters...! A guy at work does air brushing and he wants to do some work on my car! Free of charge of coarse, he just wants to get back into it. he has been at me for ages to give him my bonnet but i cant decide on anything i want.

So i'm in need of some ideas??

I was thinking of something like this today... I am looking at something i can carry on through the guards and possibly the rest of the car....

But i was also just thinking of doing some sort of evil herbie type theme.... a tasteful one?? With similar sort of graphics as herbie but all tattered and torn... I dont know.

Any ideas??

That skull is Pretty average and the fire is getting there but i wouldnt put it on my car

I'm a big fan of flames, and done right they will look the goods your bug man!

Try a different colour to the orange / yellow....maybe some shades of grey & silver,
that will pick up the wheel colour & chrome, you could substitute the skull for a stylised VW emblem also,

Yes i know it's not the TRUE colour of fire, but it will work & you can make it as subtle or bright as you want.

i have two black utes with green flames on one & blue flames on the other, they are not over the top, but look the goods, not to mention the kids pedal cars !

Yeah, after looking around i was thinking it might look better in blue so i found this and am pretty keen on it.... i was thinking of getting him to put some VW logos in the eyes?? Do you have any photos of your utes??

I was just gonna get him to put the skull right down the front of the bonnet and have the flames going right up.

I've got a mate doing some flames for myself, going on a kombi picture thats getting tattoo'd on my arm.

I like the flames, but the skull scream little man syndrome to me. All these so called tough C***s with them on there cars look like wankers that would cry to mummy if they ever saw a dead body.

Why not use the flames with just the VW logo like suggested instead of looking like everyone else?

If you wanted to get really tricky, I have seen one done with flames coming up the bonnet with the water drop effect at the top with steam/smoke effect where they met. Was on a truck though, so slightly bigger canvas area to work with.

If it was on a street car/ daily driver i probably wouldn't put skulls on it either.... But being a race car? Its definatley not about trying to make myself look tough lol! Anyone who knows me knows Im not like that. Its about making the car look bad Ass! i saw some of his work this morning and its amazing! I think Im just gonna let him run with it.....

If you didn't want the skull a iron cross would look good as well. Either way it will look the goods

Still think the silver & shades of grey (dark & light) would work really well with your car

get the guy to do some mock up colours on some board with black background so you can see if it works & if you like it,
easier than living with something you are not 100% on just because it was free

Hey mate,
I don't mean to offend, I like flames and love the idea of the iron cross.
I just fins all the skulls, skeletons, etc... really daggy as everyone has them because they think they are cool.

It no longer means you are a hard arsed bikey with tatts like it used to, just that you want to be part of the club.

What Evs, if you want a scull then do it! You know I would and it's not so I look like a tc either!!
