So I'm aware that the generators arent the best option for charging/providing power, but I'm curious to know to what extent?
I Want to run a single 12" sub woofer, I already have 2/6x9's powered by a 400watt 2 channel amp.
Am I asking for trouble running a 12" with something in the area of a 500W Mono amp aswell? Can I circumvent the charging issues by running a
capacitor too?
Or should I just bite the bullet and convert to an alternator?
Thanks for the help guys.
Allbones.
Hey bones, I run 4" speakers in the front (off the head deck), 6" in the back and a 10" sub (off a 600w 4 channel amp). If i stop at lights for
too long - and the radio is up, the volts go down down down. I run the stock 12v generator. I need an alternator, I'm not sure the best option
(well I know it is Bosch) but I would like a higher amp output - like 75? Or more? So I can run my spot lights too..
I think you will need an alternator too. It puts a fair drain on a stock electrical system.
My 2 cents

You would be best to convert to an alternator
