Fitting Carpets- Adhesive Or None on Front Floor '68 Beetle

Wondering is there a way to fit carpets on the front floor without adhesive? I reckon if I stick it down and then need to change the clutch cable I
will be stuffed. Velcro maybe? And then there is also the issue if I fit underfelt under the carpet, what gets stuck to what or Velcoed to what.
And in the rear if I use underfelt, what gets stuck to what?
How does everyone else do this?
Cheers........Wayne

Hi Wayne
I used the blue foam yoga mats instead of underlay to stop noise etc.
You can use contact adhesive on the matting plus on the carpet, or use velcro on the matting and under the carpet...
its a bit hard to glue the underfelt that was used originally...
plus rubber mats were originally used and they were moulded to fit the shape of the floor....
