Hmm.. not sure. I am assuming that you have a CD headunit?

You might be able to get help on the net somewhere, but you can certainly start at http://www.newbeetle.org

Hope that helps, and welcome to the forum!!

for anybody intrested i found the approapiate parts needed to replace the factory radio,
*Fusion single din stereo surround to suit 99' beetle onwards

*male ISO din wiring harness adapter (all colour coded for aftermarket radios and description written on each wire)

*european aerial plug adapter

found all these parts easily at autobarn when you ask the right questions

and i must say i've heard a lot of stereo setups and the factory speakers clarity blew away my expections ( wanted to fit some boston splits to it but i'll hold off for now.

if anybody else is looking to change the radio i hope this helps

Think it is a high powered unit. Might be wrong.

The New NEW Beetles, like 2004 - 2005 have a different HU in them again, that is MP3 compatible.. nice too..

I am going to run an iPod and a sub soon.. iPod maybe this weekend!

Have you tried it Maya? Insert a data disc and see if it reads it.

Do you notice if the stereo is different in this black one to your white one?
The MP3 player will have like a digital readout type of thing, like radio stations coming up as words like FOX FM or TRIPLE J or something...
