Did Type 3's or beetles ever come with kick panels under the dash?
I'm trying to devise a way to hide the mess of wires under there and possibly create a place to mount some front speakers in my fastback.
Any suggestions as to how i go about this? Im thinking either making flat panels similar to door cards, or possibly making something out of fibreglass
though making a mould would be pretty tricky...
Type 3s did not come with kick panels, just carpet.
There shouldn't be that many wires down there.
There is a compnay which makes fiberglass speaker panels for type 3s, but I cann't remember what they were called.
Not who i was thinking of but these guys have something.

I purchased some speaker panels for my notch from http://www.vollkommenart.com
they fit great and the sound is much better with speakers in the front.
i used to have 6" speakers boxed in the front. the boxes were covered in a black carpet type stuff to blend into the floor. stick some velcro on the
bottom and they will sit tight just in front of the seats. that size box also won't get in the way when driving (well i'm 6feet, and had seat a fair
way back).
i've seen people with speakers in doors (i did in my first square) and you need to drill holes as there are none that go through. after doijng it
once i deided to find an alternative and i wouldn't do it again. there are heaps of options, depends what your preference is. me, i prefer wooden
speaker boxes as i think it produces a better sound but stereo system is a very personal thing.
cheers,
aaron.
