What is the type of glue you use to attach the carpets? And where's a good source to get it?
Thanks,
Rob
local hardware shop and get some spray on contact adhesive
make sure you remove all the old glue n dirt before re glueing the carpets in place
test fit them beore glue as well
TAC Adhesives do a good one, but you might have to buy it from a trimmer. It's called 205 Brush Contact. Otherwise Bunnings have a good spray adhesive by Fuller called Spray Bond Permanent. It says it's for light weight materials but is strong enough for carpet. Most canned spray adhesives aren't strong enough but Fuller will do it.
I just used contact cement... in tubes...
I coated the body with contact..
then pushed the carpet where it needed to go
so there will be contact on both sides
and took the carpet off for the contact to become tacky
then pressed it into position... You only get one chance doing it this way as the contact sticks on contact...
and when it sticks... it sticks...
the other way is to coat the body with contact - from a tube... [large tubes from GO LO]
and push the carpet into its location... You can move the carpet into place as the contact hasn't dried...
and leave it there....
just press all over after about 15 minutes...
and it should stick....
this is not the recommended way to apply Contact Cement... and it may come off...
You then apply more contact and let it go tacky before reapplying... and it shouldn't come off...
