Hi. I've just pulled out all the carpet and underlay in the type 3. The floor and firewall were painted when the car was resprayed by the previous owner and look perfect to me. I want to have no carpet at all while I fix my leak and slowly get myself organized. Can anyone tell me of a solvent that will speed up removing the left-over glue on the firewall and floor? I've tried all I can think of and have now run out of elbow grease! Thanks.
wax and grease remover or turps.
I'd go for commercial glass cleaner. There isn't much that stuff won't shift. If that doesn't work then get really crazy and break out the carb cleaner! Watch the paint though, and definitely don't be tempted by oven cleaner, definitely not good for paint.
I was just about to post and ask about this issue myself. Turps is pretty good.
Acetone is a heap quicker, but it can eat the paint.
If you can find a motor trimmers supplies place, they'll have a glue thinner that does the job perfectly. Try a local motor trimmer if you don't have access to the above.
A clean carpet means less or no chance of pollen allergy and many other types of allergies. Besides, as regular cleaning takes care of factors such as
dirt, grime, pollution, chemical residues, fungi and bacteria in carpets. Notice that if you have a relative who has some skin problems or respiratory
status, rug cleaned frequently to reduce their problems. In addition, a carpet cleaner means cleaner air in the room where we breathe.
waste removal
