Now, before I start drilling holes...

Yo! I'm installing a basstube with a built in amp behind the rear seat of a 65 bug, and I need to secure the bass tube to the car to stop it bouncing around. I have the fixing kit but get the feeling I should not be drilling holes into the body. I'm obviously worried about hitting numerous things. Anyone else had to screw stuff down behind the rear seats who can give me some advice? Thanks for you help.

There is nothing under the parcel tray that would be affected by small screws. If it needs to be there dont worry about a few small screw holes.

I'm not refering to the parcel tray, I'm refering to area below that, directly above the gear box.

You could fit a plywood panel in the area first, this could be glued down with a couple of spots of glue ,or silicone to stop it rattling or moving around.
then screw to your hearts content

Yep, tray is not the right term more like parcel/luggage area. I have always refered to it as parcel tray for some reason. But it is the spot your refering to.The plywood idea is pretty good aye?
