Hi
I bought another 1303 / Volkswagen L to fix up a bit and sell on the weekend.
The PO left a gaping hole in the dash when he removed his radio so I need a plate to fill the hole with DIN size hole in it.
I know I can make one but I just wondered if anybody else has found a ready made bit of plastic or metal to do the job? Or do pull out the angle
grinder and Dremmel again.
Steve
I know Autobarn and the like sell DIN size storage pockets for when they put single DIN heaunits in double DIN cars so you might be able to fit one of them and give the buyer a dash cubby hole? They probably sell a DIN blanking plate as well.
Hi
I had a good look around Supercheap, I will try Autobarn and Strathfield as well.
Steve
Steve I think you'll find that Strathfield Car Radios or even JB Hi fi will have something appropriate

Hi
Sorry about my poor English.
I found a helpful guy at Repco today, I looked through his Aeropro catloque and found this unit. http://www.aerpro.com
"Universal Snap-in Kit European & Japanese vehicles Product Code: FP999001"
to suit blah blah and Volkswagen Super Beetle 2 dr. 1973-1975
They are going to call me with a price tomorrow.
Steve
Steve, I imagine you're like me and have a stash of originals for safe keeping.
Be that as it may I still refuse to use them, if someone wants your head unit all they have do do is grab it and yank.
I'm hoping with my alumnium plate substitute by the time thieves get all the screws undone they will have given up from my alarm pissing them off
not that a 4 year old JVC mp3 deck is worth stealing
Hi Joel
I don't have any original panels, the last bug I had with one I sold to a guy in Kyogel (he had the hillclimb Ghia in VWMA a while ago) and I left it
in.
This bug is one that I bought to sell and the PO took the head unit out. The unit in Davids bug is in a plate I made a bit like yours.
In my new bug I will fit an under dash unit as the AC evaporator will be where the head unit is, Im was going to have vents in that area.
