Need some input into front speaker placement in my T3 Caravelle.
Currently have 6" 3way speakers mounted in shitty spacers in the bottom of the front doors. As per the first picute. As you can imagine, most of the
sound is lost / blocked by running straight into the drivers & passengers lower legs.
I am thinking about making up a fiberglass speaker pod /enclosure to mount in front of the gear shift in the centre of the dash / front kick. Looking
to use 6" split speakers with the tweeters located in one of two locations as shown in the picture below.
This is obviously only a rough layout to give an indication of what I am planning.
Position 1 is my first option for tweeter location.
Do you think this will be an improvement on what I currently have, or am I wasting my time doing this?
My thinking is that at least the suorce of the sound will be closer to the listeners ears, but will having both side speakers mounted centrally
destroy the "stereo" sound.
Whats your thoughts.

bendan i like the foot well ones they work so much better than the door mounts.
That placement will ruin your stereo imaging.
Try angled pods in the footwell kick panels.
Thanks guys,
the general consensus in the places I have asked, is that as Birdman has said, I will ruin the imaging & that I would be better of with a better
mounting set-up in the door panel & get my tweeters up as high as possible in the door panel or near the a-pillar on the dash & aim them
directly at my head if possible.
See what I can come up with.
Cheers
