Hood Lining / or other alternatives? Help needed
Kazandmyrtle - January 3rd, 2011 at 09:55 PM

Hi All,

I restoring my '67 bug. I'm jumping ahead of myself and thinking about the interior.

How hard is it to install a hood lining?

Am I better just taking it to someone to do?

If so do you know anyone in the Sydney area who does this?

And a rough idea on price for the lining and fitting?

OR

what other options have other people done instead of a full lining?

Just looking for ideas and tips

Thanks in advance
Kaz

Vinyl headliners can be a pain in the ass to get the wrinkles out of
velour is marginally easier.

If you want an alternative my black beetle had a really thin plush kind of carpet/velour glued to the roof, looked really good,

I'm probably gonna do the same to my current bug soon seeing as Ive manage to rip my headliner in several spots

Think it was Lohoon a couple of years ago at Valla ,had old advertisements and magazine covers lining the inside of his roof.Looked cool! when done tastefully on the right car thinking outside the square pays off
