Nylon Washers for Heater Control Lever
cam070 - February 20th, 2012 at 06:01 PM

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can source the nylon washers for the heater control levers.

I know the likes of RS Components sell them, but you can only get them in boxes of 50, which is about 46 more than i need.

FYI, this is the type of thing I need, but just the washers:

If you cant find any you could make some with some flat sheet and a hole saw.

Again Pod, thanks for coming to the aid of my resto. Here are some pics:

The old and mostly has it factory washers with the custom machines Delrin washers from Pod.
Assembly stage with cleaned/painted components. Washers are a perfect fit.
And all assembled, just needing final adjustment down the track

In case anyone was wondering what Delrin was. It's a DuPont product, tradename for Acetal. Properties from their site are:

"Delrin® acetal resin bridges the gap between metals and ordinary plastics with a unique combination of creep resistance, strength, stiffness, hardness, dimensional stability, toughness, fatigue resistance, solvent and fuel resistance, abrasion resistance, low wear and low friction."

Sounds perfect for the job.
