VWCOOL - August 22nd, 2008 at 08:59 AM

yeah not bad. Have you blokes fitted one yet? Does it have a 'base map' installed to get the engine idling etc?

Hi

Looks interesting, what sort of ECU is it?

Steve

Yeah, it does look interesting - wonder what the $$$ is like without the fuel pump, pressure reg, fuel lines and dizzy that I don't need....

In answer to the questions raised about the ECU yes it does have a base map.

Once you have fitted all the kit using the plug and play harness, there are two adjustments in the ecu software that allows for you to get the car running at idle and the other so you can get it driving, like an idle adjustment and a main jet on a carby.

From this adjustments the ecu will automatically set a table which will get your car drivable and running smoothly.

The more information the customer can supply about there engine combo the closer the base map we can supply in the ecu.

We have a large number of base maps on hand now that we are happy to send out to our customers ecu in some cases eliminating the need for dyno tuning all together. How ever we strongly suggest if you are not able to understand lambda readings have it checked by a professional.
As far as dyno time is concerned it should only need around two hours if everything has been fitted correctly to have the programming of the ecu finished.

The ecu is made in America by Redline. I have spent weeks with them and am happy to present this ecu, over many already available in Australia for it value for money feature wise.

The ecu looks at both TPS ( throttle position) and MAP ( manifold absolute pressure) at the same time. You can adjust how much you want it to look at one over the other. The ecu has closed loop tuning, which means that it will tune itself to lambda targets.

Yes there are other ways we have these ECU's available, for example a ECU, relay and power control, all sensors including 4 wire oxygen sensor, plug and play wiring harness, injectors and electronic MSD dizzy we have for $2700.00+ GST

We are presently setting up these kits so keep an eye out here and or on our new web site cbbvw.com for further information.

Regards

CBB
