hahahaha... new it wouldn't be long cam... will you have one before valla???? you gonna cruise up with us??
according to the current website the models available are:
Miami (assume the 1.6L) $26k
1.6L 75kW/148Nm $31800
2.0L 85kW/170Nm $36500
1.8T 110kW/210Nm $39500
Cabrio still only listed as the 2.0L but i believe it is the 05 model runouts. Dont know when the new cabs are meant to arrive as i haven't had the
chance to speak to our local dealership in a while.
They have a new shape hardtop in the yard and the front dont look too bad.. guess we will get used to it as the guards are a little flattened on the
sides. (ready for bolt on flared guards??? lol)
yes keep me posted id like 2 cruise up with u again if im welcome will have a few other tas bugs with me and its a six month waiting list 4 the new shape???? where in melborne is the dealer ship with one ??? il come over 4 a look ??? want a green cabrio :P i love green as 4 flairs i cant find any yet but a set off 20inch wheeles are a must if i get one ??? not shore yet am looking for an old bug as well
20's hahahaha yeah right...if ya can find them....its bloody hard enough to find 19's
i doubt the vert would come in green...would be good tho
got 20's already lined up maya as 4 colour ??? i could only hope if not il get her painted strait up it has 2 b green
20's don't fit under the NB without cutting the stone guard, or making mods to the strut perch, or making the turning circle about 20 m. They simply
foul the inner bits which make the car ride, brake and steer. If you're turning the car into a trailer queen, this may not be an issue for you.
19" wheels are a very tight fit, but will work unless you're at full lock. However your speedo will be out - there are no tyre + rim combos which
fix this.
18" plus lowering look the business and do not require any body work. If you go for a +1, your speedo may not be out afterwards.
thanks,
Andrew
mate had a 2000 model nb and the 19 fit know problems with it even lowerd 2 inches lock 2 lock" and there is heaps of room 4 20inch just tyer
profile is at a 20 profile wich means big $$$$$ 4 tyers but i get the rims made 2 suit the car should of had 20 b4 thay run 22 in the uk with
miniamal mods

I've been a member of newbeetle.org since 2001... and those guys would know a tyre mod if it's possible. I've never seen one. There's an old
thread on Google which discusses these issues from 2001 and 2002.
This is not to say it's impossible, just extremely unlikely without cutting the car. If you make it work, post on newbeetle.org - they'll be all
over you.
Andrew
Here's the current "Wheels" thread
http://newbeetle.org/forums/showthread.php?t=493
In four pages of some wild wheels, nothing over 18".
Andrew

Funny you say that Maya.. Had those as an option in my mind for weeks... Then that pic came up too.. Guess what is my wallpaper?
Problem is that they are 18 x 8. Depending where you live, live Vic, maximum is 18 x 7.5(the old 2 up 1 out rule).
Told you I had considered it..

Those guards look like they are from the early RS models-the V6 ones that were fitted with 21" wheels and were used for racing.I had a look at 2 that were racing at the Clipsal 500 a few years back-awesome motor cars.
