Towing with the t3
Spook - July 21st, 2006 at 04:36 PM

Alrighty, after 5 long years I'm going to bring my 57 home.

What are the t3s like towing?

It certainly seems up to the job, but we are talking pulling another kombi for 300km, with the liverpool range 70kms into it.
Last time I pulled a car ovcer the mountain I had a 253.

Are these 2.1's up to the job??

Ask FRIDAY BIG SHOP - Tony, he seems to tow plenty of cars with his.

I towed another T3 bus on a double axle hire trailer, from Sydney to Nowra with my twin cab, was slow up hills, (back to 3rd) but sat on 90k's on the flat no worries.

I also towed a 900kg pop up caravan with my Auto Caravelle on a holiday to QLD, 5000 K's no worries, just a bit slow up hills.

Well, it did it alright, but I'm pleased I won't ever need to do it again.

2nd over the great dividing range, & it was hard to tell what was moving faster, the fuel guage or the temp.

Once I got on the Hunter Valley side we sat on 90-100 most of the way home.
