what can you tell me abou 1991 golf cabs?

a freind of mine is looking at buying a 91 golf convertible and asked me if i could find out any info for her.

its a 4 speed auto.

any flaws in this model? bad rust spots? power wise? transmission wise? suspension wise?

any help appriciated.

All I know is bulletproof body and suspension and engine - not sure about the trans, though

thanks VWCOOL. i havent seen the car though it lives near the beach so ive instructed her to look for rust more than anything but apparently its had some rust work done on it.

Forget it - they're cheap enough (under $8K) to get a good one without needing $5K's worth of rust repair and paint work
