Becker has done this to his caravelle
have a chat to him.
Bugger it Mitch.
Do it to yours and i will see if it is worth doing to mine
Well reading that article and other posts in this section is what prompted me to start that thread 'improve wasserboxer or go subaru'.
I actually rang Vintage Vee Dub (the place that does this upgrade) yesterday. Boris the workshop manager/owner wasn't in so i only got an approx
quote and didn't get confirmation on expected power increase.
The package itself includes all labour, chip, rockers and push rods. It was recommended booking 2 weeks in advance and would take roughly 3 days.
This is what i was told over the phone by the person on the front desk, so i wouldn't take it as gospel and would recommend ringing and speaking to
Boris to clarify.
If anyone does it would be interested in hearing of the results. Maybe we could send in about 3 T3's in one go and try for a discount? :P

I have done it to my Twin Cab,
I would say nowhere near a 49% increase is power, but a useful power gain 10% maybe, The engine I did it too was a mystery engine from a wreck, with 2
new AMC heads, and the rest stock as far as I could tell, it didn't go as well as it should have as a stock engine, but is not too bad now.
I am going to rebuild a new engine soon using some original low mileage German heads, I will see how that goes.
Chuck a hair dryer on it.
Very tempted Steve
Steve what do you mean by hair dryer? mitchell
