Does anyone know where I can buy a T3 kombi rear hub nut in Perth WA? Everytime I go to buy somenthing for this van it's always got to come from the
east coast. Does anyone around perth carry any spares?
Is the T3 hub nut the same as old Kombi's? it looks the same in photo's. Thought maybe people might carry spares for T2's.
I think the part number i need is 251 407 671
Anybody got any suggestions?
You need a 46mm socket and breaker bar, T3 hub nut is the same as a bay one.
Dave
thanks dave.
the nut came off real easy. It's a replacement nut so I assume the bearing has been changed by a previous owner.
The fact the nut came off real easy I'm hoping it was never tight, although it could be wear in the bearing. I was going to try just replacing the
nut and if that fails replace the bearings.
Good to know the bay uses the same nuts, might be easier to find.
came off easy is not good should be more than bloody hard
Yeh last one i removed, had to get the oxy on it, and then gal pipe. Shit what an effort.
nearly sounds too lose nearly shit have i got tales of tight nuts on cars i mean

both
did you get sorted with ur nuts? a bay will do the job, i've got a 46mm socket n stuff, no nuts tho.
i'm not going near that one
vwjon,
Got a secondhand nut yesterday (off a T2) and had to use a thread file to repair the hub stud thread. All seem's ok now. Nice to get the van back
on the road.
I can't believe how hard it is to find bits around Perth, nobody wants to know. I need a water temp. sensor for the engine management, thinking of
getting one from the UK, the postage is proably cheaper than all the phone calls around austraila.
Does anyone know where to get wheel spacers and longer wheel bolts/studs/nuts?
studs and spacers are available through pep's and auto 1 also some good 4x4 suppliershappy hunting
what water senser are you after as i have the inner tank ater level sensor
try using the net to find stuff
ie sponsors here ie Mick Mtrs in Bris
e-mail afew ppl
or even Google search
type in the main terms ie Vw Kombi 42 mm axle nut
or go into the general buying and selling parts thingy here.
I only started looking here and find one can restrict themselves to one area and never see what ppl have in others
cheers
You can buy either 55mm or 75mm studs for the rear wheels from a porsche wrecker..exotic cars in sydney sell them for about $5 each...on the front you can use audi a4 wheels bolts these are about 20mm longer than std but you will have a 17mm head ...hope this helps ..T3 stuff is easy to get !!!
