Beetle engine bay tar boards

Does anyone know where you can buy good quality thick tar boards like the original ones for an S bug? The only ones I have seen are pretty thin and bow when you fit them inside the engine bay.

Thanks

Yogie

They are the only ones I have seen and, yes, they are rubbish

Mick motors has got some good (heavy) repo tar boards in stock. Make sure you keep yours to transfer wiring holes to nrw ones.

I'd think about glueing them to some thin ali sheet or something similar to stop this happening. After the first summer the new boards looked like this.
And before you ask, yes they were quality ones from one of the above suppliers.

I assume Dyna mat isn't an option?

I have none in my S bug at the moment as my last ones got sucked in to the fan so I took them all out. The ones in my 68 are fine though with no real issues.

I want to keep the original look although I will be adding dynamat to the interior side of the engine bay later some time as well.

Might call in to Micks and have a look next time I am over that way. In the meantime, if anyone knows of some NOS ones, let me know.
