RodPenrose - July 4th, 2013 at 08:08 PM

I have a new 2276 cc engine here that is 100% brand new and is an identical duplicate of the new engine in my own beetle . This engine has been tuned @ 137 HP on a chassis dyno and has almost 200 ft/lb of torque . This is a complete turn key deal and will be supplied with the exact same jets and a copy of the dyno report . Everything on this engine is 100% brand new apart from the low milage rebuilt 48 mm dellorto carbs ;
Magnesium case opened and decked
82 mm Cromoly forged 8 dowelled chevy jnl crank
Forged moly H beam 5.4" rods with ARP bolts
Moly lightened flywheel
Moly HD gland nut/washer
Engle FK 43 camshaft
Scat solid lifters
Scat 1.4 pro rockers
Manton .035 moly pushrods
Stainless windage tubes
CNC round port heads , 42 x 37.5 stainless valves
Scat stainless valve covers with int. tabs
Scat crank gear kit
Scat oil booster kit
CB in/out 26mm oil pump
AA piston/barrel kit
All new black tinware
Welded balanced fan
55 amp int. reg. alternator
Billet Alt. pulley
CB Magnaspark ign. kit
Jaycee billet pulley
Geers billet oil filter
Ceramic A1 1 5/8 sidewinder

This engine in my own 76 bug , 17" wheels and .82 top gear can be driven @ 50 km/h in 4th gear , and is capable of 160 km/h in 3rd gear . This is the best engine combo I have ever built and can be test driven in my car . This engine is ready to go and can be shipped Aust wide via Toll Express if necessary . The compression is @ 9.08:1 and is priced @ $ 9400 . This is located in Wollongong NSW , ROD , 02-42729920 .

Rod loves that engine he said the torque is unbaleivable

Mark Herbert was a massive fan of this size engine too, the Quaife diff video (link below) is him with his 2276. Isnt this the largest size engine you can get with out having to cut the tin ware aswell?

137hp was at the wheels Craig. I've driven this same motor in rod's 76 beetle, it really is a great combo, goes hard but it's as well behaved as a stocker.

Yep, that's exactly the point I was making to DakDak67..... its 137hp atw (chassis dyno) as stated by Rod in the original post

whats the trade in on a 1600tp worth lol??

DakDak67 - July 23rd, 2013 at 10:43 AM

Cool, sounds tough. They're nice figures for a 2276 that will last.
