I've got a set of front seats out of 76 bay. Need some spring work but covers are retrimmed and in ok condition. $30 plus freight and they're yours.

Thanks h.. I will suss out Volksrecycle in regards to what they have.I know there must be VW heads hoarding stuff in the sheds...lol
Also thanks LIFE IN THE LOW LANE..With the seat springs needing work, do you mean a few are broken or flat and need repair?.I need the seats complete with tracks? (If they run any)..because someone has mounted shitty Gemini seats in it.
Are you able to PM me pics?. Also do you regularly deal with freighting parts to SA or would I need to arrange that all from my end?..Sorry for all the questions regards Jason.

The tracks are formed and welded to the body. If someone has fitted different seats you may need to find track from a donor car. Not sure of the law in SA but in qld this would then require engineering inspection. Unless the original mod was unofficial. If I recall correctly it is only the drivers seat that adjusts with tracks. The passenger one slots in.

For freight use e-go couriers. Cheapest I've found.

Thanks for the reply pfillery..The original drivers' runners are still there and the tabs to lock in the passengers are there still too..luckily the shitty gemini seats are spaced up above the original tracks.I mainly want to fit original seats for more leg room and original look.

You are lucky then. A lot of people remove them to make things easier but it makes it near on impossible to put it back again. Stock is always better I feel. Although the older low back kombi seats are far more comfortable in my opinion than the later high backs, much better padding. Unfortunately ADRs are such that high backs have to be used, can't go backwards, although the early low backs can have the headrest fitted too.

Not sure what the rules are in SA but here in QLD if the mod was "official" ie they plated it and told the transport department etc, another inspection needs to happen to make it back to original again. Bad part is the original plate has to stay on there so you go back to stock but have 2 plates.

No mod plates or anything are fitted to the kombi in regards to the gemini seats being fitted.More than likely they are a backyard mod..unfortunately they are pretty common thanks to our ..laxed laws and no vehicle inspections so looks like I will just refit the original high backs.I have a set of recaros but they are for my mazda project and would like to go back to original highbacks..just rebuilt.
