HI all

I'm starting a diversion program for Year 9 high school students to teach some of the challenging kids some basic mechanical knowledge using my old 1600 twin port engine.

The plan is to cover basic tools and their use, then pull down the top end to heads off, and finally re-assemble, tune and startup; in the process they learn how an engine works.

So far I have an enclosed gear box segment to use as a starter mounting (thanks to VW Performance Centre) and I'll build a switch and relay rig for a starter switch. Fuel can come from a jerry can.

What I'm lacking is a 12v starter motor and battery. They don't have to handle lots of startups so tired parts will do the job .

Clearly a low price would help as this is a volunteer gig at my wifes school.
