I have built another engine for my 77 bus and it has done almost 800 km's and I will now offer it for sale . This 2276 cc engine is built using 100%
brand new components and has been dyno tuned @ 102 at the wheels @ 5400 rpm's with 163 ft/lbs of torque . This is almost 130 @ the engine and with
the 2L transmission and a .70 top gear just hasn't got the power I want . The engine can be test driven in my bus before I try another combination
soon . The custom exhaust is extremely quiet and is included with the deal . I will also include the custom rear engine mount . This engine will suit
any Kombi or can be made to fit into a beetle . The engine is 2 mm wider than stock and all tinware is new and included
Magnesium case , clearance , opened and decked
Empi 82 mm crank
AA 5.4 h beam rods with 3/8 bolts
CNC round port 044 heads , 42 x 37 valves
LBC camshaft with 258 duration and almost 500 lift
Autocraft 1.25 rockers
Engle lifters
Mahle steel backed main bearings
KS rod and cam bearings
Scat moly head stud kit
Heavy 8 dowelled flywheel
Stage 2 Kennedy
Kennedy HD disc
SS windage tubes
1 5/8 sidewinder header
Dual 44 mm Decade carbs
Magnaspark ignition
96 pass oil cooler

Stainless braided oil lines and fittings through out
8.48 compression ratio
This engine is yet to see over 80 degrees in oil temp on a 2 hr drive , is extremely smooth to drive , and can be purchased with the new transmission
if required . The engine is located in Wollongong NSW and is priced @ $ 9000 for the complete turn key engine , or will be priced accordingly if you
do not require all of the kombi related parts if fitting into a beetle , ROD , 02-42729920 .
Rodney can you please supply me with the correct A1 sidewinder exhaust as seen in your ad ( not the recently edited version) .
I also do not appreciate you leaving abusive voice msgs on my phone calling me a Dick Fu#$ etc, this is not a professional way to do business( yes it
is saved).
On the 5th of December I paid you for this engine,
On the 13th you tell me you are keeping the A1 exhaust as there are tabs welded to it and ask me to ring about what exhaust I would like. I said A1
sidewinder as it will suit my towbar fitment.
You explain you are out of them ATM and will send one when they arrive, I said I will use my cheap sidewinder of my old motor for the moment.
On the 1st of march you tell me the exhausts are held up in customs.
On the 29th of April you tell me the exhaust has been sent.
On the 12th of May I receive a cheap sidewinder copy not the A1 I was told I was getting.
After trying to receive the correct advertised part off you, you reply with...the add does not say GENUINE A1 HEADER . I have never had someone whinge
and bitch about so little petty things in my life , ROD.
Well the ad did say A1 and you referred to it as A1 in our emails and on the phone.
You do not go to a TV shop and buy a Sony and just except it when a Teac arrives and this is exactly the same.
Once again I am happy to take the cheap copy to valla and exchange it for the correct A1 exhaust I was told I was getting( outside of the event).
So please do the right thing.
Regards,
Bob
I'm sure Rod has every intention of rectifying the situation if you only contact him direct, he's always answerred my phone calls and has been
nothing but helpful.
Maybe it was a mistake lost in communication on his behalf, kind of like a recent UK Magazine where "El Concreto" was featured and all credit was
accepted by "Ash and Bob" without a mention of Damian who originally built it and IMO you guys ruined it.
I have spoken to him on the phone !
And did I ruin el concreto by fixing the rust??
guys. any more off topic and ill be forced to clean up the thread.
please keep the nastiness to the current level no more.
remember opinions are like arseholes you dont want to see everyones.
I haven't got a dog in this fight but to be honest I would be pretty peed off if I was not sent a part as advertised?
Its like advertising Webbers but receiving cheap China copies!
Rod has always done the right thing by me in the three years I have been dealing with him. In all cases he has gone above and beyond what I had hoped
for. Give him a chance and be aware of the dangers of airing your dirty laundry on a public forum for all.
Gordon
I am very aware and have given him many chances, this is my last resort to do it in a friendly way.
I hope this to be sorted very shortly so we can get back to
talking engines!!
DD
erm I wouldn't be happy with that.. very ordinary..

No, replaced engine 3 times, gearbox, wheels, converted to disc brake, new spindles as the old ones were flogged out from not having grease nipples
fitted, rack and pinion steering, new wheels twic , interior, re did the irs coversion etc etc so yeah I guess the farmer before Damo and the
original owner also should have been credited it the article.
Not that any of this has anything to do with the topic.
im locking this as its not going anywhere. hopefully we can get this sorted.
