(Second hand bits were mostly salvaged from some of our cars, except for one of the steering wheels, which was bought for $50, silly me.).

Hi mate, sadly I can't PM as I just joined the forum and haven't gotten 5 posts just yet!

Interested in 1 of the Steering Wheels but don't know much about interchanging of bits as I just bought my Type 3. Mine is a 1970 model with the old style steering wheel, but the silver horn pull part is broken & not fitted to the wheel anymore, and generally it is pretty worn out. It isn't legal to have no horn in WA so I need to do something wheel wise if it is to be road worthy.

Could I buy one of your late model Type 3 wheels and fit it without drama? or is there more to it?

ANT_T3: Yes they should fit a 1970 type 3, I think the steering column and splines are the same from at least 1969 to 1973. There are identical-looking 1970's beetle wheels that won't fit, as the splines are different (much finer0.
[But do you mind if the car has the "wrong-looking" wheel on it? It shouldn't be too hard to find one he same as yours...
