The auto trans is from my 2ltr 1975 bay camper has a busted oil pump.
so i am looking for someone to rebuild it or a rebuilt box or a second hand one or a conversion (maybe a subaru auto) ?
These have vacuum throttle and electric kickdown, and selector lever and cable is on passenger side when trans is installed.

FYI..that Auto is from an 1800cc Kombi, not a 2 L. The 2L Auto doesn't have the modulator and is a different box....more heavy duty. You can swap
them around, both engines and boxes with little drama.

The trans pictured is a 1600 Type 3 EFI Auto trans. 003's were never a "2L" auto. It is likely that your car was originally a 1700 or 1800 auto.
The vent tube pictured is the same as Type 1 breather valve.

The trans pictured is a 1600 Type 3 EFI Auto trans. 003's were never a "2L" auto. It is likely that your car was originally a 1700 or 1800 auto.
The vent tube pictured is the same as Type 1 breather valve.

The Trans picture is not a 1600 Type 3 EFI Auto trans, the Trans pictured has the cast steel bellhousing/diff housing which makes it from a Type2. The
Type 3 has the alloy bellhousing/diff housing, they are both have "003" automatic transmission sections. There are valving and other differences
though.

The first Kombi auto I used for my Drag Car came from a 2lt Kombi with a 003 auto and the cast iron diff housing. The one I am now using has an 010
auto and also a cast iron diff housing. The 2 versions are quite different and I found nothing interchangeable between them.So you will need a 003 to
replace yours. Aaron will know if the Type 3 and Kombi 003's are the same.

Take a closer look at the Trans
Interesting...my pile of Type 3 Auto cores all have cast iron diff housings, but they are Type 3 diff housings though!
Agree about the valving differences and other small differences..

Ok I'm talking about the housing not the diff carrier which is a bolt in piece into the housing on the type 3 autos.
Type 2 003
Diff mounts directly into the cast steel housing.
Type 3/411/412 003
Note the mounts on the side of the bellhousing(for 411/412). Diff mounts in steel carrier which bolts into alloy housing.

You're on to it Brent-well displayed.I had forgotten about the mounts on the side of the Type3 housings.They are what I used to mount my fabricated
rear engine mounts when I put the Type3 auto into my Oval.I got the idea from Neil in WA when he was using these auto's matched to Subaru engines.

mmm ...What do you chaps use to set up the diffs with new bearings and seals? You do set the pre loads and pinion depth?? Or not?
