type 1 VW complete engine... Could suit Track Events (sprints, hillclimbs, or longer/road race), or possibly drags, rallying or off-road.
Was built specifically for short track (hill-climb or sprint) events, with strong low-mid range torque, and wide power-spread for hillclimbs, rather than a high-rev drags-only screamer.

- 75.5mm "Naismith" forged c/weighted 8-dowelled crank.

That's a cheeeap engine considering how much it would cost to build from scratch, that Naismith crank can rev.
